Teachers able to strike

Hamilton high school teachers will be able to strike starting November 19th.

Their union and the Ministry of Labour couldn’t come to an agreement this week.

Eight other unions across Ontario are already in strike position after the province passed a bill in September that freezes their wages and bans their right to strike for two years.

Many of the 1,500 high school teachers in Hamilton have been wearing black on the 11th of each month to symbolize their belief that the bill symbolizes the death of collective bargaining.
