Teacher heading to jail

A former St. Catharines teacher who had sexual chats online with young girls will spend the next year in jail.

53 year old Greg Hamelin pled guilty in December to charges of invitation to sexual touching, luring and sexual exploitation.

He sent sexually explicit messages to five girls between the ages of 13 and 15 and has been sentenced to 12 months in jail.

He’ll also serve three year’s probation.

Hamelin was a teacher at Oakridge school in St. Catharines, and has been dismissed from his job.

He also co-owned a horse camp in Lincoln.
