Authorities are on the hunt for four “armed and dangerous” individuals who tried to pull off two separate, synchronized smash-and-grabs at the Pen Centre.

Investigators say a call came in for a robbery in progress Monday shortly before 9 p.m.

Police say that four masked men entered both the Kavar Jewellers and Griffin Jewellers — simultaneously.

Once inside, the thieves at the Griffin Jewellers store used hammers to break several display cases and steal their contents. At the same time, robbers at the Griffin Jewellers demanded cash and assaulted an employee before a bystander managed to chase them off.
