Crash snarled traffic, temporarily closed Niagara-bound QEW in Hamilton

All lanes have reopened after the Niagara-bound QEW was closed at Fruitland Road in Hamilton following a serious two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon.

Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says the collision involving a car and truck happened around 2 p.m.

According to Schmidt, the driver of the car was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

There is no word yet on the cause of the crash or the number of people involved in this incident.

The incident snarled traffic for several hours during rush hour.
