Swim postponed

Burlington’s Michele Benoit is postponing her swim across Lake Ontario.

The 42 year old was set to take an 18-hour, 45-kilometre swim from Port Dalhousie in St.Catharines to Burlington’s Spencer Smith Park on August 17th.

However, severe weather and water conditions are forcing her to move it to the spring of 2013.

Benoit is swimming to raise money for the charity “Waves for Water,” which supplies fresh water to Africa.
