Pedestrian in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by SUV in Hamilton

A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by an SUV Thursday night on Barton Street East in Hamilton.

The collision happened shortly after 9 p.m. near Robins Avenue.

Hamilton police say a Honda Pilot was travelling eastbound on Barton Street East when it struck the 37-year-old man who was crossing the road.

The male driver of the SUV was not injured.

Investigators are asking any motorists in the area at the time of the collision to check their dash cameras and any residences or businesses nearby with surveillance cameras to review their camera footage.
