Suspect wanted for allegedly stealing engagement ring worth $40,000

Halton police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted for allegedly stealing a $40,000 ring from a jewellery store in Burlington.

Police say the incident happened around 5:20 p.m. on Oct. 12 at Griffin Jewellery Designs in Burlington Centre.

The suspect entered the store and asked to look at engagement rings.

While handling a ring, the suspect threatened the store employee by saying there were men with guns outside and then allegedly walked out the door with the ring worth an estimated $40,000.

The suspect is approximately 30-years-old and described as six-feet-tall, clean shaven, with a fit build, dark brown hair and light brown eyes.

He was wearing an all black outfit with dark-tinted aviator sunglasses and reportedly has multiple light-coloured scars on both hands.
