Storm causes power outages, damage in Norfolk County
Clean up is underway in parts of Norfolk County Friday morning.
Environment Canada issued a tornado warning for part of Norfolk County Thursday afternoon.
There hasn’t been confirmation of a tornado but a strong storm did blow through.
High winds uprooted trees and knocked out power lines, leaving about 2,000 customers without power.
The focal point of the damage appears to have been the Turkey Point and St. Williams area.
Simcoe, Delhi and Norfolk are currently under a special weather statement.
Environment Canada is warning of thunderstorms with heavy rain possible Friday afternoon into Saturday morning.
Local rain amounts could be anywhere from 30 to 60 mm.
