Stoney Creek industrial fire

An explosion at a Stoney Creek business Monday morning sent one to hospital and caused extensive damage.

The blast happened just after 11am at Custom Power Coatings on Barton Street in the Grays and Green Road area. Two workers were inside at the time.
The explosion blew out the back wall and part of the roof. The injuries for the one employee that was sent to hospital were relatively minor.

The location at 263 Barton Street is unit 16. The Ontario Fire Marshal, the Ministry of Labour and the City Building Inspector have all been called to the scene.

Barton Street is closed from Grays to Hilton and Green Road is closed from Carpenter to Arvin.
