Southern Ontario under heat alert as temperatures soar

A widespread heat warning is in effect across the Golden Horseshoe this weekend, as Environment Canada warns of sweltering conditions gripping southern Ontario. The region is facing what forecasters describe as a “heat dome,” trapping hot, humid air and pushing temperatures into the low 30s, with humidex values making it feel closer to 40°C.
