Thousands of skilled trade workers protested in front of Queen’s Park today saying that Kathleen Wynne’s Liberal government is proposing dangerous amendments to a bill that could see their training and certification become meaningless.

The workers say the quote ‘unprecedented changes’ could benefit business by allowing cheaper, unskilled labour to do complex and potentially dangerous work without certification. And it will be both workers and the public at risk.

The protesters say the certificate of qualification is the only demonstrable proof of proper training and the government’s proposed amendments will now allow individuals without certification to do work within the scope of theses trades.
