SISO hurt by $5M in federal funding cuts

Immigrants and refugees who come to Hamilton could soon have far fewer resources to help them settle.

Ottawa has slashed its funding to SISO, the Settlement and Integration Services Organization by more than $5 million. That means seventy employees — more than half the staff — will likely lose their jobs. And as Lisa Hepfner reports, another agency with far less staff and funding will have to try to pick up the slack.
