Ont Grits dispose of eco fees

With one year before the next provincial election, the Liberal government has now formally buried the unpopular eco fees.

The program was plagued with controversy from the get-go, when on July 1st – the same day the HST came into effect – consumers started noticing they were also being charged an eco fee on household items like bleach and dish soap. Cristina Tenaglia examines Tuesday’s move by the province.
