Two former executives of Hamilton’s Settlement and Integration Services Organization have been sentenced after being found guilty of fraud last month.

Morteza Jafarpour and Robert Salama were tried together after Citizenship and Immigration uncovered an almost $3 million fraud at the organization. SISO helped many immigrants settle in Hamilton.

The judge gave Jafarpour, who was free during the trial, a two year sentence. Salama, who was behind bars during the trial, was given one more day.
