Police say around 3am Tuesday, a man showed a gun to an employee at the Motel 6, demanding access to a room. He was looking for a woman he knew but when he saw no one was there, he left. Then around 11:30 in the morning the man returned, he confronted the woman he was looking for and chased her to the parking lot.  Police say one round was fired towards her. The bullet hit the hood of the car and the driver sped away.  The man got into another car and chased the pair eventually leaving the area, but not before witnesses got the licence plate.

The man’s car was found in an underground parking garage on Main street west in Hamilton. The car with the bullet hole was found in the area of Mainway and Dillon road in Burlington.

Police officers responded to the parking lot of the Motel 6 in Burlington at 11:30 Tuesday morning after receiving reports that someone in a car fired a gun at another vehicle. Halton police confirm that at least one shot was fired at two people inside another car and that it may have ties to another investigation overnight.

Police say they found the victim’s car nearby.  It was located 3 kilometers away from the Motel 6 in the area of Dillon road and Mainway.

Police say this is a targeted incident and there’s no concern for public safety. But motel guests remain alarmed, especially after one man said he was told by the receptionist that a man and woman were found with a gun just last night.

Halton police say they were at the motel in the early morning hours for a investigation but say they will not share the details at this time, however they believe what happened earlier in the morning may be connected with the parking lot shooting.

Halton police say they have arrested the gun man, he was taken into custody in Hamilton.
