Serious two-vehicle crash in Welland sends two to hospital, closes road

Niagara police say two people have been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Welland Monday morning.

Officers say the serious collision occurred at the intersection of East Main Street and Darby Road.

As a result, the driver of one of the involved vehicles has been transported to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle has been taken to hospital with what authorities are calling minor injuries.

Police say East Main Street between Highway 140 and Moyer Road is expected to be closed for several hours while investigators are on scene.
