Fatal motorcycle crash on Hwy 6 kills 44-year-old man from Port Dover

Ontario Provincial Police say a crash involving a motorcycle on Highway 6 late Tuesday night has killed a 44-year-old man from Port Dover.

Officers say at around 11 p.m. the man was driving a motorcycle southbound on Upper James Street when it had collided with a northbound transport truck that was making a left turn onto Highway 6.

Hamilton paramedics said the man was rushed to a trauma centre without vital signs.

OPP posted on X at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, saying the man was transported to hospital and pronounced dead.

Officers say no one else was reported injured.

No charges have been laid at this point, and the investigation is ongoing.

Police had reopened the road just before 6 a.m. after closing the highway during the investigation.
