Serious crash in north Burlington

A man has been airlifted to hospital after a crash in Burlington.

A tractor trailer and car collided late Tuesday morning on Appleby Line and Derry Road.

Emergency workers were called to the scene at about 11:30am.

It took some time for them to free the trapped man from the car which was destroyed in the crash.

The north and southbound lanes of Appleby are closed between Derry Road and Britannia Road for the collision investigation and are expected to be closed through the afternoon rush hour.
