Serious crash closes Hwy 6 again

Highway 6 was kept closed all night after a serious crash just north of Caledonia.

OPP say it happened shortly before 11 pm last night near the southbound ramp to Greens Road — in front of Applegate & James furniture.

The driver of one vehicle was rushed to Hamilton General with serious life threatening injuries.

The other driver, a man, was arrested.

A car and a pickup truck were involved — with the truck appearing to have the most damage.

The area is under construction with grooved pavement beginning in the area where the crash occurred.    Workers were putting down new pavement a few kilometres north of the collision last night.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.

Another crash last Friday involving two cars closed the highway at Chippewa Road for two hours.
