A 30-year-old Toronto woman has been charged in connection with three homicides this week in Toronto, Niagara Falls and Hamilton, two of which were randomly targeted.

The first incident happened shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the area of Keele Street and Dundas Street West in Toronto. Police say an unidentified woman believed to be in her 60s was found with trauma to her body. Investigators say the victim and suspect were known to each other.

The next day, police in the Niagara region were called just before 3 p.m. to John Allan Park in Niagara Falls following a report of an altercation between a woman and a man who was walking his dogs.

Officers arrived to find 47-year-old Lance Cunningham suffering from critical injuries. He died at the scene.

Less than 24 hours later, Hamilton police responded around 12:30 p.m. to a parking lot on MacNab Street North. Officers say 77-year-old Mario Bilich was found unresponsive with “significant” stab wounds. Paramedics brought him to hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Investigators believe Cunningham and Bilich were randomly targeted.

In an update Friday, Niagara police say they arrested Sabrina Kauldhar near a hotel in Burlington at 5:45 p.m. Thursday. She has been charged with first-degree murder in the Hamilton homicide and second-degree murder in the Toronto and Niagara investigations.

“When we have someone who’s committed three offences in a real tight timeframe like that,” Fordy says, “there is a risk of them committing further offences so I’m grateful for the dogged determination shown by our investigative teams in the pursuit of justice in this particular case.”

Detectives are working to determine the timeline of events, and ask anyone with information about the homicides or those who may have seen Kauldhar between Tuesday and her arrest on Thursday, to contact them at 289-248-1058.

Niagara Police Chief Bill Fordy says in a press conference Friday that Kauldhar had an interaction with Toronto police in the past.

“Our agencies are speaking with our colleagues across the province to confirm if there are other incidents that might be related,” Fordy says.

Kauldhar appeared in a St. Catharines court Friday morning for a bail hearing.

Police were also trying to identify a woman who was seen Tuesday on surveillance video at the Giant Tiger located at 2025 Guelph Line in Burlington buying clothing that Kauldhar had in her possession at the time of her arrest.

The woman was found Saturday, is cooperating with police, is not connected to any of the offenses and is not facing any charges.
