The brother of the suicide bomber who set off an explosion at a Ariana Grande concert in Manchester has been sentenced to a minimum of 55 years in prison.

The May 2017 attack killed 22 people and injured hundreds of others.

Hashem Abedi denied helping plan the attack but he was found guilty of murder, attempted murder, and conspiring to cause explosions.

His sentencing had been postponed due to travel restrictions put in place because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

His elder brother, Salman Abedi, who set off the bomb, died in the explosion.

The sentencing judge said Thursday that both brothers were “equally culpable.”
