Second U.S. presidential debate in question, Trump says he won’t do virtual debate

U.S. President Donald Trump is throwing a wrench into plans to make his second debate with Joe Biden a virtual event.

Thursday morning, the Commission on Presidential Debates announced the debate won’t be held next week in Miami as planned because of Trump’s COVID-19 infection.

It said the debate would be held virtually, with Trump and Biden participating from separate remote locations.

But in an interview with Fox Business News, Trump accused moderators of trying to protect Biden and says “I’m not going to do a virtual debate.”

The Biden camp has not responded.

The debate is scheduled for Oct. 15.
