Russell trial nears conclusion

Final evidence is expected to be presented Monday in the trial of a St. Catharines man accused of killing a Toronto police officer with a stolen snow plow.

44 year old Richard Kachkar has pled not guilty to first-degree murder. His lawyers are pushing for the jury to find him not criminally responsible. 35-year old Sergeant Ryan Russell was killed when he was hit while trying to stop a snow plow during a police chase in January of 2011.
