Road closures on east Hamilton Mountain after watermain break

A watermain break on the east Hamilton Mountain has caused some of the roads nearby to be closed during the repairs.
The break occurred just after 11 p.m. Tuesday at Upper Ottawa Street and Broker Drive.
Hamilton Police Service spokesperson Trevor McKenna spoke with the city and says repairs will be going on for much of the morning.
City workers say they have been working through the night to make repairs, with crews still looking to find the source of the break.
Police say the asphalt is unsafe with very slippery conditions and the area is blocked off with barricades.
Hamilton police posted on X before 1 a.m. Wednesday saying Upper Ottawa Street is closed in both directions between Broker Drive and Sandalwood Avenue.
Officers are asking people to avoid the area.
