Britain’s new Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has officially taken office on Tuesday.

Sunak was the former Treasury chief under former prime minister Boris Johnson. He will become Britain’s first leader of colour and the first Hindu. He will also be the youngest British Prime Minister in more than 200 years at 42-years-old.

Sunak will be Britain’s third prime minister this year. Boris Johnson was ousted in July amid ethics scandals and his replacement Liz Truss resigned from the position last week after just over six weeks in office.

Penny Mourdant was in the race as well for the top spot. In a statement posted to Twitter, Mourdant says “Rishi has my full support.”

There was speculation that Johnson would attempt to make a comeback after spending the weekend trying to gain support from fellow lawmakers, but he dropped his bid on Sunday.
