A young girl from St. Catharines hit Lake Ontario Sunday to try and break another world record, and this year she’s bringing out a team. 15 year old, Trinity Arsenault is making history, swimming towards another record. “We are going to break a world record on Lake Ontario”

The goal? To swim 70 kilometres across the lake in only 24 hours. Arsenault has broken 4 world records, including last year when she became the youngest person ever to swim across Lake Ontario. swimming is her pride and joy. “For me I don’t know who I would be if I wasn’t able to participate in sport”

To chase this new goal, she’s bringing on a crew of 8. including her sister, Michaela. “She is like a role model to me she has done so many things that are amazing and I’m so excited to finally do a swim with her.”

Starting at the Port Dalhousie Yacht Club, Trinity and her relay team plan to take an hour each on the water. But this is easier said than done, and it took a lot of work.
“It’s amazing what these swimmers have accomplished they’ve practiced thousands and thousands of hours in the open water.” said Justin French – team member dad.
3200 hours, meaning each swimmer trained over 400 hours this last year to get ready. But for the team? They’re ready.
