Rainbow Bridge shuts down for rescue

Lanes on the Rainbow Bridge heading from Canada to the U.S. have re-opened following a rescue mission on Sunday.

Firefighters were called to the Canadian border around 3pm, after a 25-year-old man fell in the gorge just south of the bridge.

An aerial truck arrived to rescue the man who was injured and unable to crawl out on his own.

The man was transported to hospital but is expected to be okay. Police say it was not immediately clear how the man fell into the gorge.
