1/3 This morning/last night racist and homophobic slurs were written on the walls of Harriet Tubman School. The statue of Harriet Tubman was also vandalized with paint on the statue & racist, mysoginistic & homophobic slurs. This is not acceptable in our our city. pic.twitter.com/guU22K7iWs

School staff were called in to clean up and paint over the graffiti. McPherson says multiple parents and kids saw the vandalism and condemned the hateful act.
The Harriet Tubman statue is one of two in St. Catharines. Tubman was a freedom seeker, social activist and Underground Railroad conductor.
