Weekend Lakeshore West GO train modifications expected

Metrolinx’s Lakeshore West rail services will be temporarily modified this weekend to accommodate major track upgrades.

“Certain track closures are required to make essential improvements that will support faster, more frequent GO service as part of GO Expansion,” reads a statement from Metrolinx.

Trains will run every 30 minutes on the Lakeshore West line.

Train departure times from Union Station will be adjusted to depart two minutes earlier than regularly scheduled.

Saturday, Aug. 8:

• The 22:10 train departing Niagara Falls GO will not stop at Exhibition GO
• The 19:22 train departing Union Station will depart 12 minutes earlier at 19:10

Sunday, Aug. 9:

• The 00:16 train departing Exhibition GO will depart 20 minutes later at 00:36
• The 19:22 train departing Union Station will depart 12 minutes earlier at 19:10

Regular service will resume on Aug. 10.

Metrolinx encourages customers to plan ahead and check schedules before travelling.
