Quebec man faces a dozen fraud charges in investigation by Halton police

A Quebec man has been arrested in a fraud investigation with victims in Halton, Hamilton and Peel Region.

Halton police say the charges relate to contracts for snow removal services, roofing services and cottage rentals from 2017 to 2019.

They say the contracts were signed under various company names including “Alton Village Landscaping Group” and “Brant Hills Landscape Group.”

Christopher McSwain, 40, of Gatineau, was arrested in Ottawa on Thursday with the help of Ottawa police.

He’s been charged with 12 counts of fraud under $5,000.
