York police have released the identity of one of the suspects wanted in a lengthy car chase that spanned several police jurisdictions before ending in Hamilton.
Michael Christopher Clark, 25 is described as 6 feet tall, 175 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen in Hamilton and is known to travel around the GTA.
Police say they were responding to an alarm at a video game store just after 3 am Monday when two people were spotted leaving the building. They got into a stolen Honda Civic and drove off. Officers tried to stop them on the 407 but they managed to get away.
The ground pursuit was called off for safety reasons but the York police helicopter continued to follow the vehicle as it went south on the 400, then west on the 401; exiting on Regional Road 25 in Milton where Halton Police tried to stop it. But again, they were unsuccessful.
Police say the suspects then drove to Oakville. Filled up the car with gas and drove off without paying. Eventually, the helicopter followed the car to Hamilton where the Civic was abandoned. The suspects ran into an apartment.
Clark is considered dangerous so if you see him, do not approach him. Instead, call 911.
A description of the second suspect has not been released.
