Price of booze heading up
Despite the recent Auditor General’s report suggesting the price of booze in Ontario is higher than necessary, we learned Friday that it’s going to cost more to buy liquor in Ontario come March first.
The LCBO has announced it will be hiking prices for wine and spirits.
The increases will range from five to fifty cents.
The cheapest bottle of wine will go up by five cents including bottle deposit.
A 750 millilitre bottle of a mainstream spirit will go up 50 cents.
Ontario sets minimum prices for alcohol sold in the province, which are determined through a calculation that factors in the consumer price index.
