Pretend We’re Kissing is a self-described “non rom-com” written and directed by Matt Sadowski. The film had its Toronto premiere as the closing night film at the 2015 Canadian Film Fest. Dov Tiefenbach, Tommie-Amber Pirie and Zoë Kravitz star.
Pretend We’re Kissing follows Benny and Jordan, two average people who have a whirlwind weekend romance. Dov Tiefenbach (Harold and Kumar, Sympathy for Delicious) plays Benny, a nebbish character who struggles to make a real romantic connection; Tommie-Amber Pirie (Michael: Tuesday and Thursdays) is Jordan, a girl hell bent on proving magical love can exist and Autumn, brought to life by rising star Zoë Kravitz (Divergent, Mad Max: Fury Road) is an unemployed, bi-sexual hippy who is also a self-diagnosed agoraphobic.
We had a chance to talk with one of the film’s stars, Tommie-Amber Pirie, and she had nothing but praise for first time feature filmmaker Sadowski. “He is one of the most hard-working, determined, creative men that I know. And I know that this film, he wears it on his heart. This has been a 10 year plus kind of idea for him in development, and so I know this moment in time right now, having the release of Pretend We’re Kissing, means the world to him.”
Pretend We’re Kissing is rated 14A.
