Shortages of some prescription painkillers are expected to continue for a few months in Canada.
In July, Health Canada announced a shortage of drugs that contain acetaminophen with oxycodone, including those by the brand name Percocet.
There were also low stocks of acetaminophen with codeine, which includes Tylenol 3. The medications are taken for ailments from acute injuries to severe back pain.
The Canadian Pharmacists Association says the codeine-containing medications such as Tylenol 3 are back in stock, while supply remains limited for Tylenol 2 and 4, which are prescribed less often.
A senior director at the Association said they hope that the situation will improve by the new year.
