Niagara police are asking community members to identify the owner of a vehicle they suspect to be involved with the stabbing of a 59-year-old man last week.

Officers say they found the man suffering from a stab wound at around 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 22, in the area of Niagara Square Drive near McLeod Road.

He was transported to hospital with critical, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities at the time said they believed a woman had gotten into a verbal argument with the man before stabbing him once in the back.

The woman had left the area in a silver sedan going southbound on Niagara Square Drive.

Investigators received video footage of a vehicle they believe to be connected to the stabbing and are asking residents to help identify the vehicle, or the owner of the vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Niagara Regional Police Service at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009730.

Those wishing to provide information anonymously can do so through Crime Stoppers of Niagara at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS) or on their website.
