Police seek suspects in stabbing during robbery attempt in St. Catharines

Niagara police have released an image of a suspect following a stabbing in St. Catharines during a robbery attempt.

Police say it happened on Sept. 4, shortly after 10:30 p.m. in the area of Riordon Street and Gale Crescent.

A 46-year-old male victim from St. Catharines was walking through a parking lot in the area with a friend when two suspects approached them.

Police say the suspects demanded property from the victim’s friend. This led to an altercation, which resulted in the victim being stabbed.

Investigators say the victim was taken to an out-of-town trauma centre with non-life threatening injuries and is now recovering at home.

The first suspect is described as a Black man in his late 20s with a medium build. He was last seen wearing black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt with a t-shirt visible underneath, and black running shoes with white sole at heel.

The second suspect is a Black male, around 15-16 years old with a thin build. Police say he was wearing grey pants, white t-shirt, and black running shoes with white soles.
