Police seek suspect linked to four Hamilton commercial robberies

Hamilton police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect believed to be responsible for four commercial robberies in the city.

Officers are investigating the four robberies that took place between Sept. 6 and 25.

Detectives say three of the robberies happened at businesses in the Barton Street East and Kenilworth Avenue North area, with an additional robbery taking place at a business on Upper Ottawa Street on the Hamilton Mountain.

The robberies occurred on:

• Sept. 6, 2026, at around 8:15 p.m.
• Sept.17, 2026, at around 11:25 p.m.
• Sept.18, 2026, at around 2:40 p.m.
• Sept. 25, 2026, at around 8:05 p.m.

Investigators say they believe the same suspect is responsible for the robberies.

Police say during the incidents, the suspect allegedly entered the businesses and demanded money from staff. 

Officers say in at least one incident, the suspect threatened staff with what was believed to be a firearm. The suspect fled on foot before police arrived.

Detectives say the suspect is described as male who was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a dark-coloured hoodie, grey pants with a black stripe near the pockets and black shoes with white soles.
