Hamilton police are offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the shooting death of a 19-year-old man near Jackson Square almost one year ago.

The Hamilton Police Service Board made the decision in a meeting Thursday in an effort to advance the investigation.

The shooting happened shortly after 1 p.m. on March 6, 2024 in the area of King Street West and MacNab Street South.

Detectives say Alexander Circiumaru was walking on a sidewalk when a male suspect got out of a vehicle and shot at him several times before fleeing westbound on King Street West.
