Halton police are investigating a home invasion that occurred in Burlington early Sunday morning.
At approximately 2:40 a.m., four men broke into a home in the southwest Aldershot neighborhood. According to investigators, the men smashed a first-floor window to gain entry while the residents were asleep.
After being woken by the sound of breaking glass, the residents went to investigate. They were then confronted by the men who demanded valuables.
One of the men was armed with a handgun and pointed it at a resident, while another man held a knife to a second resident.
The residents handed over several pieces of jewelry before the men fled the area in a dark coloured sedan.
Detectives describe the four men as wearing dark-coloured jackets with hoods and masks.
They add that no physical injuries were reported.
Authorities are asking the public for any video footage from the area of North Shore Boulevard East and King Road between 2:30 a.m. and 3:10 a.m.
