Niagara police are investigating after an armed robbery at an Avondale store in Port Colborne Tuesday night.
Officers received reports of a robbery at the Avondale located on Killaly Street East near Davis Street around 7:44 p.m.
Upon arrival, police spoke with the store employee who disclosed that a lone male suspect entered the store brandishing a knife and demanding money.
The suspect then fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency.
There were no physical injuries reported by the store employee in connection with the robbery.

Attempts by detectives to locate the suspect that is believed to have run south on Davis Street with the help of the canine unit were unsuccessful.
The suspect is described as a white man, between the ages of 25 and 40-years-old, five-foot-four to six-foot-six and 175 to 190 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a black toque with a pink pompom and writing on the front, a white mask covering his face, a black winter jacket, green (possibly camouflage) pants, cloth winter gloves and white shoes.
Area residents, more specifically those south of the Avondale store, are asked to review security footage and contact police with any relevant information at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1008393.
