Police investigate the death of an inmate at the Barton jail

Hamilton police and coroner are investigating the death of an inmate at the Barton jail.

Hamilton paramedics were called to the Hamilton-Wentworth Detention Centre on Saturday, around 2 pm, for a man without vital signs. The inmate was pronounced dead on scene.

Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services spokesperson Brent Ross confirmed the death.
