Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are looking for a gunman after a shooting in Simcoe on Saturday morning.
Police say it was around 11:00 a.m. when a woman was shot at a home on West Street. She was taken to Norfolk General Hospital. A visitor at the hospital told CHCH News that the hospital went into lockdown for several hours on Saturday.
The suspect is believed to have fled the area in a vehicle.
The vehicle is described as a red or burgundy coloured SUV which was last seen travelling on Queen Street South.
The suspect has been described as a black man, heavier set, with dreadlock hair. He was wearing a grey hoodie with dark pants and was entering the vehicle that was parked on Nelson Street South.
Police say the man and the woman were known to each other, but it’s unclear how they know each other.
