Police investigate shooting at park in central Hamilton

Detectives are continuing their investigation into a shooting that happened in central Hamilton on Monday afternoon.

Police responded to reports of “possible shots fired” in the area of Sanford Ave. North and Wilson St. around 3 p.m.

Officers found evidence at the scene that led them to believe a firearm was involved.

Police believe the incident is believed to have started in the parking lot of a nearby highrise building.

“It is not believed anyone sustained serious injury at this time, as no blood was found at the scene,” said Cst. Indy Bharaj.

Police say the investigation is still in its early stages.

No suspect description has been released at this time.
