Police say several schools in Hamilton’s public board have received more potential bomb threats Tuesday.

Police spokesperson Jackie Penman tells CHCH News that approximately six schools in the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board have been threatened, with some deciding to evacuate.

The board did not specify which schools received potential bomb threats Tuesday, however, CHCH News has learned there is a police presence at Kanétskare Elementary School.

“The safety and well-being of our students and staff remains our top priority,” a spokesperson for the school board told CHCH News in an email.

“We take every threat of violence against a school community seriously and have supports in place for student and staff well-being.”

The board says it will directly communicate updates to students, families and staff.
