Police investigate overnight stabbing outside Sam’s Restaurant and Tavern

Police are investigating a stabbing early Sunday morning outside Sam’s Restaurant and Tavern.

Officers were called at about 2 a.m. to the restaurant at 632 Barton Street East in the Gibson Neighbourhood between Wentworth Street North and Sherman Avenue South.

Police said a man got into an argument with another man outside the restaurant and was stabbed in the head with an “unknown weapon”.

The man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police have not released the ages or identity of either man and continue to investigate.
