Police investigate multiple gunshots fired in Hamilton’s east end

Hamilton police are investigating after multiple gunshots were fired in the city’s east end overnight Friday.

Officers responded to a “surge of 911 calls” reporting a shooting incident shortly before 1:50 a.m. in the area of Garside Avenue South and Main Street East.

Police arrived to find one bullet in a car and one bullet in a nearby home occupied by four people at the time of the incident.

No injuries have been reported.

Investigators believe it was a targeted shooting.

Police say there are no suspect descriptions at this time.

Residents and drivers in the area are asked to review their surveillance or dash camera footage between 1 a.m. and 2:15 a.m. for any suspicious activity.
