Girl in life-threatening condition after being hit by taxi on Hamilton Mountain

Police are investigating after a girl was struck by a taxi on the west Hamilton Mountain Monday afternoon.

It happened around 1:45 p.m. in the area of Garth Street and Sabrina Boulevard.

Officers say the girl has been brought to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives say they are still working to learn the age and identity of the victim.

Video from the scene shows a taxi surrounded by police tape. Investigators say the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating.

There’s no word yet on the cause of the collision.

The intersection was closed while police investigated.
