Police continue investigating fatal hit-and-run in Niagara Falls

Police are asking members of the community for information that may assist in identifying a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Niagara Falls in August.

At approximately 10 p.m. Aug. 10, officers responded to the area of Montrose Road and Greendale Street for reports of a single vehicle collision with a pedestrian.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a 63-year-old man had been struck by an SUV. He was transported to an out-of-region hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators say the vehicle involved is a white four-door Audi SUV with a large moonroof.

Officers report the Audi did not stop and was last seen driving southbound on Montrose Road toward Lundy’s Lane.

Anyone with relevant information and/or dashcam, cellphone or other surveillance footage recorded between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Dorchester Road between Lundy’s Lane and McLeod Road is asked to contract police at 905-688-4111, dial option 3, ext. 1009059.
