Police charge Brantford man accused of waving handgun in road rage incident

Brantford police say a 48-year-old man was arrested after allegedly waving a handgun at another driver in a road rage incident.

Officers say the incident happened in the area of King George Road and Norman Street at around 4:30 p.m.

The man was allegedly tailgating another car before passing the vehicle, uttering a threat and waving a handgun at the driver.

Police say they arrested the man at a location on Grand River Avenue.

At the time of the arrest, police say the man was in possession of the handgun, an open container of cannabis and an open alcoholic beverage which was clearly visible in the center console.

Authorities charged the man with uttering threats, having a weapon for a dangerous purpose and driving a vehicle with cannabis and liquor in open packaging.
