Man, 21, arrested for stabbing restaurant employee in Niagara

A man from Mississauga was arrested for stabbing a pizza restaurant employee after a failed robbery attempt in Niagara Falls on Wednesday.

Niagara Police attended the pizza restaurant at Drummond Rd. and Lundy’s Lane.

Upon arrival, the employee had suffered stab wounds and was treated at the scene. Paramedics believed it to be non-life threatening after being transported to a local hospital.

The suspect, Waase Ballard, has been identified as a 21-year-old of Mississauga and has been arrested and charged for robbery, assault causing bodily harm, and fail to comply with probation order. 

Ballard is being held for a bail hearing scheduled on Nov. 25 at a St. Catharines courthouse.
